Join Us at The Goombay Bash
The Goombay Bash was created by several friends with entrepreneurial spirit who decided to make a difference in the fight against cancer. In 2001, we threw our first Goombay Bash under the guise of a casual Caribbean-style festival. Since then, the Goombay Bash has grown to become one of the largest and liveliest cancer research fundraising events in Chicago, hosting over 1,000 guests! All proceeds benefit Basic Science Cancer Research at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University.
The Goombay Bash was created and is hosted by The H Foundation, an independent 501(c)3 organization dedicated to making a difference in the fight against cancer. Since 2001, The H Foundation has raised over $13 million, donating nearly every dollar raised to the Lurie Cancer Center. These funds are used as seed money for basic science cancer research projects to help them compete for additional government or private funding. As a result, our donations have been leveraged into over $280 million of research dollars towards finding a cure.

We host the Goombay Bash at the Aon Grand Ballroom at Chicago's Navy Pier, but our event doesn't require a black tie dress code! Most guests wear Hawaiian shirts and tropical print dresses in keeping with the evening's Caribbean theme. Event Sponsorship
As an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, The H Foundation receives 100% of our funding from businesses, families, and individuals like you. The generous support of our sponsors allows us to continue hosting events like the Goombay Bash, and provides great exposure for sponsoring companies and organizations.
Sponsorships range from $500 to $50,000 and offer a variety of benefits, including event night tickets and celebrity guest meet and greets.

Other Ways to Support
In addition to buying event tickets or sponsoring, we offer a variety of other ways to show your support. You can purchase Grand Raffle tickets for a chance to win $10,000, buy custom Goombay Bash license plates, purchase a Memorial Palm to honor a loved one and their fight against cancer, and more.
