Honorary Chair
Thank you to our 2022 Honorary Chair!
Julie Jordan Laux

I am a daughter, sister, mother, friend, and business owner.
I grew up as one of 5 sisters who were close in age and close as friends. We lost our very loved sister Jodi after a brutal battle with pancreatic cancer. She endured this battle with grace, wit and lots of grit. It was an honor, albeit a terribly sad one, to witness. She had an immensely successful career at P&G and subsequently Hertz and was well known for her sayings “Get Shit Done (GSD)” and “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?” We will miss her forever and honor her memory the very best that we can. I am so very humbled by the opportunity to speak about Jodi at Goombay.
I am the mother of seven kids, three of whom were brought to my marriage in 1993 to Doug. I hate the word “step” as we are one big, happy family. My kids are smart, talented and well grounded, good people. That’s all I can ever hope for. My husband Doug is a terrific partner and immensely supportive of all I want to do.
I am the owner and creative director at J. Jordan Homes in Hinsdale, IL. I started my business in 2006 and it has been quite the ride. We have created a luxury brand in residential construction. I love my work and feel lucky to work with many different people in creating their homes.
I love people and highly value my friendships. I met John Rot through a mutual friend. We quickly developed a bond and have shared many stories together. When I told him about Jodi, I knew he understood. The tag line 'Cancer is personal’ resonates deep within my soul.
I am honored to be the Honorary Chair of the 20th Annual Goombay Bash Presented by Becknell Industrial and know that TOGETHER we will make a difference. GOOMBAY!
